Ukraine and China outline steps necessary to simplify visa regime

In the course of consultations in Kiev, heads of the consular services of Ukraine and China have agreed on a number of steps to simplify a mutual travel regime for the citizens of the two countries.

According to the Facebook post of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the ministry held top-level consular talks with China. The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the administration of State Border Service of Ukraine, the National Police, Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, and the State Migration Service.

During the talks, both sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the consular field and migration and visa issues, as well as the protection of the rights and freedoms of their citizens.

"As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on steps necessary to simplify the travel regime between the two countries.The two sides also worked out the key areas necessary to streamline the visa procedures and provide  effective interaction of the corresponding state departments to ensure adequate assistance to citizens abroad," the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported.
