The Russian military is forming a new division near the border with Ukraine
The Russian Federation is forming a new motorized rifle division in Rostov on the border with the Donbas region of Ukraine, Interfax reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that construction is complete of “one of the most modern” military bases to house the 150th Motorized Rifle Division.
"Combat training of personnel will begin at the site in a few months. There it will be possible to perform a large range of practical exercises with military technology, and to engage in tactical training while working in extreme conditions,” the press service of the Ministry of Defense announced.
Recently, it was reported that Russia will strengthen its western border due to the increased NATO activity in Eastern Europe by deploying one division near the Belarusian border and one near the Ukrainian border.
