The DPR announces beginning of TV broadcasting in Ukraine
The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) announced the expansion of "broadcasts" of their own television and radio stations to three Ukrainian regions: Kharkiv, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk. This was stated by the head of the DPP, Alexander Zakharchenko, as reported by separatist media.
It is reported that he gave the order to start the broadcasts to the Ukrainian territory directly at the press conference.
"It's time to launch this process. From now on, our television and radio programs will be broadcast on the territory of Kherson and other cities," said the head of the separatists.
In turn, the so-called "Minister of Communications" of the DPR, Victor Yatsenko, clarified that the digital package, which is allegedly already being "delivered" in the Ukrainian territory, includes ten TV channels - including six in Russian.
"We have conducted measurements; we have already done connectivity tests, and we ran tests on different frequencies. We are broadcasting to Izium, Dnipropetrovsk, Volnovakha, Mariupol and other cities," said the "Minister".
According to Yatsenko, the broadcasting equipment was purchased for 33 million rubles ($570 00 USD).
