Russian Senator: Europe has 'gotten used to' Russian-Crimea
A Member of the Russian Federation Council, Igor Morozov, congratulated inhabitants of the Crimean Peninsula during a segment on the radio program Sputnik v Krymu. He stated that Crimea will forever be under the control of the Russian Federation because “this was the will Crimeans expressed on the referendum in March 2014,” RIA Krym reported.
“The pressure from Kiev on the situation concerning Crimea will run out soon because Europe has gotten used to the fact that Crimea returned to Russia and will never be Ukrainian. In fact, European politicians tell Ukrainian authorities almost every day that they should forget about Crimea. When European partners propose to hold one more ‘final’ referendum on the status of the Crimea because they say the issue is controversial, we tell them there is no controversial issue because Crimea is Russia.”
“I believe few people would remember that for several decades Crimea had been within Ukrainian jurisdiction against legal logic,” Morozov emphasized. According to him, they can only discuss investment issues in regard to Crime, such as “how best to invest in Crimea for it to be health resort for Europeans.”
