Putin: Only the US has real influence over Ukrainian authorities
The Russian President is convinced that only the United States of America has any real influence on the current Government of Ukraine, as stated at the Southern economic forum, TASS reports.
According to Putin, the Minsk Agreements on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas should be fully implemented and all parties and guarantor countries of the Agreements should work towards it.
"In my view, and I fully agree with the participants of the Normandy process, and with the position of the U.S., there is no other alternative but to implement the Minsk Agreements," the Russian President said.
At the same time he noted that Kyiv has not adopted necessary laws specified in the Minsk-2 Agreements.
"We believe the Minsk Agreements should be fully implemented, without any restrictions or double standards. We will sincerely work towards it, but we cannot do it alone, all parties of the Normandy format should do it with us, and the U.S.A., because they have real influence on the current Ukrainian authorities," Putin believes.
At the same time he stressed that "it also cannot be implemented without the political will of Ukraine."
