Putin: In a war between the US and Russia, no one would survive
No one would survive a massive armed conflict between Russia and the United States, as stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with American film director Oliver Stone.
Stone asked Putin if the United States could, in the opinion of the Russian leader, win in an armed conflict between the two countries.
"I think that no one would survive," Putin said.
The Russian president also answered Stone's question as to whether Donald Trump's election to the post of US President gives hope for an improvement in relations between Moscow and Washington. "One always hopes, until they bring him to the cemetery" replied Putin.
In November 2014, Oliver Stone announced his desire to shoot a multi-series film about Vladimir Putin. According to him, he wants to interview the Russian leader to "show a point of view that Americans do not want to hear."
The first series of the film will be released on June 12. There will be four parts. In the excerpts that Stone has published, Putin talks about his special services, his attitude towards Edward Snowden, and about the fact that in 2000, he suggested to American President Bill Clinton to consider Russia's accession to NATO.
Putin repeatedly commented on the topic of armed conflict between the US and Russia. He declared that this was unacceptable. After Donald Trump became the new head of America, the Russian president assumed that relations between the two countries would be fine.
