Poroshenko: Ukrainians will be able to travel to the EU without visas starting June 11

President Petro Poroshenko said that as of June 11th, Ukrainians will be able to travel to the EU without visas, according to a message on the website of the Presidential Administration.

In his speech at Eurovision 2017, he noted the symbolism of the fact that during the competition in Ukraine, the EU Council will make a final decision on the visa-free regime.

"Remember this date - June 11th. As of this date, citizens of Ukraine will have the opportunity to travel without visas to the countries of the European Union. This is the first significant result of the reforms that have been taking place in Ukraine over the past three years," the President said.

He noted that the Eurovision 2017 Song Contest, which started in Ukraine on May 7, will be the triumph of European values, European unity, and solidarity.

"The attention of hundreds of millions of TV viewers around the world will be focused on Ukraine, on our European aspirations, and on our struggle for freedom and independence," the Presidential Administration press service quoted Poroshenko as saying.

Poroshenko urged Ukrainians to see themselves as people's diplomats during the Eurovision contest in Kyiv.

"And Ukraine is Europe. Without any doubt! Greetings, dear Ukrainians, with the European spring. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Europe!" the President said.
