Klimkin: Discussions at G20 summit show international support for Ukraine

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, believes that the discussion of the Ukrainian issue at the G20 Summit is a testimony to the support of the international community as well as a guarantee that Ukraine will not face Russian aggression alone.

"We have friends and partners who have proved that they are ready to support Ukraine, including solidarity, political pressure and sanctions against Russia. We spoke to them prior to the G20 Summit and have a clear, common, and firm position. And so, when the Ukrainian issue is in the spotlight of world leaders during the multilateral meetings, not only the G20 but also the G7, the EU, NATO and the OSCE is, in fact, a guarantee that they will not leave us alone to face Russian aggression," he said in his comments to Interfax-Ukraine.

"They will not decide without us. Today marks two years since the signing of the Minsk Agreements. If someone cynically wanted to negotiate with the Kremlin behind our back, it would already have happened," the Minister said.

Speaking about the formal participation of Ukraine in the G20, Klimkin stressed that this depends on the Ukrainian position: "I will talk about this when we stop talking about our potential and start to implement it."
