Kiev: Russia has blocked the transit of Ukrainian sweets

Russia has blocked the transit of Ukrainian confectionery products to Georgia and Azerbaijan, the president of the association Ukrkondprom, Alexander Baldynyuk, said on Saturday, April 9th, Deutsche Welle reported.

"Almost fifty wagons of Ukrainian products destined for Azerbaijan stood for more than a month at the customs station Derbent in Dagestan, and only at the beginning of April were they turned around back to Ukraine. A few days ago Russian customs stopped all shipments at the customs station Lars on the border with Georgia, blocking our supplies to this country," Baldynyuk stated, as quoted by Interfax.

Employees of Russian customs stations explained that transit of Ukrainian products through Russian territory was blocked again due to the embargo imposed by Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) in 2014, Baldynyuk said.

Recently, the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine received complaints about the delays of transit through Russia from exporters of goods, according to its website. At the same time, the Ministry has no official confirmation on the complete blocking of Ukrainian goods through Russia, Ukrainskaya Pravda reported.
