Kiev calls on Russia to allow Ukrainian doctors to examine Savchenko

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Russian authorities to allow Ukrainian doctors access to condemned former Ukrainian Ground Forces pilot and People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Nadiya Savchenko, in connection with her intention to resume a dry hunger strike.

“We called on Russia to immediately allow Ukrainian doctors to see her because Savchenko is fully committed to resuming a dry hunger strike beginning on the 6th of April,” the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Mariana Betsa, wrote on her Twitter account on Monday evening.

Betsa also noted that Ukraine continues to call on Russia to immediately release Nadiya Savchenko in accordance with international law and the Minsk Agreements.
