Kiev announced successful test fire of Ukrainian-made missiles

The Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, announced the successful test of fire missiles made in Ukraine.

"We began testing missiles produced in Ukraine, and today's launch showed that our rocket completely fulfilled the planned tasks and hit the intended target precisely," the press service of the National Security Council (NSDC) quoted Turchynov on Tuesday.

Turchynov was present at the site when the test launches happened.

According to him, the restoration of the missile shield "is one of the priorities for defense and security of our country."

"The Ukrainian military-industrial complex and our scientists and designers were tasked with the production of Ukrainian missiles without the component parts made in Russia," Turchynov said, adding that Ukrainian scientists and Oboronprom (defense industry) fulfilled their goal.

The NSDC Secretary noted that in contrast to Russia’s, the Ukrainian rocket is controllable "which can significantly increase the efficiency of its use."

According to Turchynov, it is not the only missile program that Ukrainian scientists and Oboronprom are working on. "We are preparing a number of powerful and effective missiles that will reliably protect our country," he said.

After the successful test, the NSDC Secretary held a meeting with leading designers and managers of the defense enterprises who cooperated in producing the Ukrainian rockets. A revised schedule of further tests and mass production has been set.
