Erdogan tells Poroshenko Turkey doesn't recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko have discussed the situation in the Crimea during a telephone conversation, the press service of Ukrainian President reported.

“Recep Tayyip Erdoğan assured Petro Poroshenko of the stance of Turkish authorities on support of independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in its internationally recognized borders. Erdoğan also stated that the Republic of Turkey doesn’t recognize the occupation of the Crimea and it will continue to provide full support to Crimean Tatars,” the statement says.

The resumption of warm relations between Moscow and Ankara after a period of high tensions have led many to worry over the future of Turkish support for Ukraine.
