"We can confirm that about six thousand tickets were distributed for Ukrainian fans to date," the FIFA press service stated, according to Interfax.ua. About 5,200 Ukrainians had purchased tickets by mid-May.

The World Cup in Russia will be held from June 14 to July 15, 2018. The matches will be hosted in the Russian cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Sochi.

The national team of Ukraine failed to make it to the world championship, coming third in its qualifying group and not even getting into the play-offs. The current world champion is the German National Team that defeated Argentina in the finals in Brazil four years ago with a score of 1: 0.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine failed to include the issue of the ban on broadcasts of the 2018 World Cup in their agenda.
