Pro-Russian LPR authorities begin early voting in Donbas 'elections'

Authorities of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic began early voting in the elections for the leader of the republic, reports Ostrov news outlet, citing the separatists’ media.

Elections sites opened at 8:00 AM. LPR authorities encouraged residents to come to the polling stations where voting would last for three days. "Residents of the region who cannot come to the polling stations on November 11 can get absentee voter certificates to vote at other polling stations,” the LPR statemen reads.

The pro-Russian authorities scheduled elections for the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics on November 11. Russia stated that it recognizes the results of these elections, although the international community does not recognize either the elections or the status of the territories as independent people’s republics. Ukrainian authorities urged citizens to boycott the elections.
