Kyiv hands EU list of 140 people involved in organizing Russian presidential elections in Crimea
At a meeting in Brussels on March 19, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin presented other EU foreign ministers with a list of 140 names of people who were involved in organizing and holding the elections in Crimea, LB.ua reports, citing Oleksiy Makeyev, political director of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry.
“We gave the Europeans a list of more than 140 people who were involved in holding the illegal elections in Crimea,” Makeyev said.
According to him, the European ministers’ interest in meeting with Ukraine’s foreign minister was significant - “there has never been such a number”.
As reported, Ukraine is placing sanctions on the persons “who took part in organizing this provocation”.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced that the results of the elections in Crimea had been falsified.
