Hungary will initiate discussions on Ukrainian Education Law at the EU-Ukraine Association Council

Hungary will initiate discussions on the education reforms in Ukraine at the next meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council, as stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, before the summit of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union in Luxembourg, the press service of the Hungarian government reports.

"This [the adoption of the education reform in Ukraine] is a serious violation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine," Szijjártó said and once again stated that he is initiating a review of the agreement.

According to him, at the next session of the EU-Ukraine Association Council, he will propose to add a discussion of the educational reforms to the agenda. The next meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council is scheduled for December 8, 2017.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavol Klimkin, noted that Ukraine will take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission regarding the education reforms.
