Following assassination of Amina Okueva Ukraine will strengthen control at its borders with Russia
The SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), the National Police, and the State Border Service have been instructed to strengthen the anti-terrorist and counter-intelligence regime, NSDC (National Defense and Security Council Of Ukraine) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said.
This decision was made in connection with recent acts of terrorism, sabotage, daring murders, and mass provocations, the website of the National Security and Defense Council states. Turchynov said that these events are connected with the beginning of the active phase of the "plan to destabilize the internal political situation in the State" by Russian Special Services.
According to him, the terrorist acts are aimed at provoking fear, despair, and doubt among the population regarding the State’s ability to ensure law and order.
"Taking into account these real threats, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and the State Border Service of Ukraine are instructed to strengthen anti-terrorist and counter-intelligence policies, border control, and the protection of the border with the Russian Federation, and will take measures to intensify actions to remove unregistered weapons from circulation, effectively counter armed crimes, the smuggling and illicit trafficking of weapons, ammunition, explosives,” the message says.
"Assistance in the implementation of these measures will be provided by all law enforcement structures of Ukraine, and also, I hope, by the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation in the Donbas) veterans and all citizens of the country," Turchynov summed up.
On Monday, October 30th, at about 8 pm, unknown persons hiding in the bushes near the road close to the Hlevakha railway station in the Vasilkovsky district fired at a car in which Amina Okueva and her husband Adam Osmaev were traveling. Amina Akuveva was killed.
