Daughter of Putin’s spokesman interns at European Parliament for pro-Russian MP

Yelizaveta Peskova, daughter of Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, has been working as an intern in European Parliament for a French MP, Current Time reports.

Her job gives her complete access to European Parliament’s facilities and databases, including its internal computer network and the MP’s internal network.

Peskov’s daughter, who is currently 21 years of age, officially registered as an intern in the office of EU Parliament member Aymeric Chauprade. Her name and surname can be found on the European Parliament website

“Miss Peskova is certainly the daughter of an important personality in the Russian Federation, but as a student she has no fewer rights than other young people who do an internship as part of their studies. In addition, Miss Peskova does not carry out professional activity in her own country, neither in private nor in public Russian institutions. Accordingly, there can be no conflict of interests here in the fulfillment of my mandate as member of European Parliament,” Chauprade told Radio Liberty.

Chauprade is a member of European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Subcommittee on Security and Defense, and is a delegate to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. He has never concealed his pro-Russian stance. During the annexation of Crimea in 2014, Chauprade was one of the international observers at the “referendum” organized by Moscow during which inhabitants of Crimea elected to become part of Russia.

Until the end of 2015, Chauprade was a member of Marine Le Pen’s right-wing National Front party and one of this party’s candidates in European Parliament.
