After winning the election Putin will form new government
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s first order of business will be to attend to the implementation of the road map according to the provisions laid out in his message to the Federal Assembly, as well as form a "new team that will go further," as reported by Putin’s Press Secretary, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with the program Itogi Nedeli (Summary of the week) on NTV.
He noted that the Russian leader will form a new Cabinet of Ministers and presidential administration, "and then move ahead, get to work," said Peskov.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that Putin's priority is the internal problems of Russia, which the Russian leader deals with around the clock, every day. "I am constantly a witness to this. For him [Putin], there are no weekends, no clear working hours. This is his priority," Peskov said.
Putin said at a meeting with the co-chairman of his campaign headquarters on Monday, March 19 that the main issues that will need to be addressed are economic growth and the enhancement of Russia's defense capabilities. The Russian leader then said that the "internal agenda" is "basic", and that it will be necessary to tackle such issues as the development of innovative industries, healthcare and education in order to "move Russia forward" and raise the standard of living in the country.
On Monday, March 19, Putin said that his cabinet would change after the inauguration ceremony. However, the Russian leader did not specify who or which posts are specifically under consideration.
