US President Joe Biden confirmed Tuesday that Washington is sending medium-range Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) to Ukraine. The move comes in response to repeated requests from Kyiv that the West supply such weapons.
The weapons can hit targets at a longer range than the weapons Ukraine currently has. The specific model that will be supplied is the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), which can hit targets from a distance of approximately 50 miles.

British PM: It is ‘vital’ to send Multiple Launch Rocket Systems to Ukraine
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Bloomberg TV it is “absolutely vital” to continue supplying military support to Ukraine, including Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).
During the interview, Johnson said it was important “that we do not get lulled because of the incredible heroism of the Ukrainians in pushing the Russians back from the gates of Kyiv.”

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he is convinced that Russia will not win the war in Ukraine.
