Ukraine wants to cease purchases of Russian military equipment components by 2018
Ukraine plans to completely abandon the practice of purchasing military equipment and spare parts manufactured in Russia by 2018. These plans are outlined in the Strategic Defense Bulletin approved by the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, TASS reports.

US general: Eastern Europe needs a real deterrent against Russia
Central and Eastern Europe need real military power to deter Russia, according to the Commander of US Army Europe, General Ben Hodges, Delfi reported.

NATO troops arrive in Finland for the first time
NATO troops landed in Finland for the first time as part of the Alliance’s Baltic Operations (BALTOP) naval exercises, Yle reported.
The exercises began on Monday near Hanko west of Helsinki.
The aim of the training is to develop cooperation between the navies of NATO member states and partners.
British, German, and Italian soldiers are participating, as well as 200 US Marines.
BALTOPS are Baltic Sea exercises that have been held annually since 1972.
