Ukrainian media reveals how many Javelin anti-tank systems will be in the first delivery from the US

A U.S. preliminary commission to assess Ukraine’s capacities regarding the storage and use of Javelin anti-tank missile systems has already visited the country, Liga.net reports.

"The delivery date depends on the United States. The situation in Ukraine is currently being studied. A commission from the United States has already come to study the area," said one military source.

The United States will provisionally supply Ukraine with 35 launchers and 210 anti-tank missiles for $47 million.

When the missiles are out of stock, each additional shot will cost between $80,000 and $100,000. This cost will be compensated if necessary, but without media fanfare, informed sources say.

President Petro Poroshenko said at Davos that he is already aware of all the dates for lethal defensive weapons deliveries to Ukraine. Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak stated that the dates of receipt for the Javelin systems would be known after February 2.
