Ukraine sends a note of protest to Italy after DPR representative office opens in Verona

The Ukrainian Embassy to Italy  reported on Facebook that a note was sent to the Italian Foreign Ministry regarding a DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) representative office which opened in Verona

It is noted that the Ukrainian embassy condemns and considers the support of pro-Russian militants in Italy unacceptable, in particular, the opening of a DPR representative office in Verona on February 9th. 

“In connection with, the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine presented the following political and diplomatic response: a corresponding note has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy and Verona’s prefecture and police station, which expresses protest against anti-Ukrainian provocations aimed at undermining the pan-European support for the integrity and sovereignty of the Ukrainian state. The legal status of this representative office is being determined,” the statement reads. 

In September 2018, the French courts refused to close a DPR representation in Marseille.
