Kremlin: the world will become unsafe if US withdraws from Iran nuclear deal

According to the official representative of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, the world would become unsafe if the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is unilaterally terminated by the United States. Representative Maria Zakharova believes that if the U.S. puts into action its statement that it can withdraw from the JCPOA, the act will be considered a threat to international legal principles, RIA Novosti reports.

“It will not bring any added value to world peace and security,” Zakharova stated.

Zakharova stressed that Iran’s nuclear program was approved by the United Nations Security Council and is therefore binding. The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif, stated that Iran does not intend to revise the JCPOA and aims to maintain dialogue with Moscow regarding the nuclear deal.
