Polish President Duda urges Poroshenko not to appoint officials with anti-Polish views

Polish President Andrzej Duda called on the leadership of Ukraine not to appoint people to important posts who proclaim anti-Polish views, according to Polskie Radio.

“I expect from President Petro Poroshenko and his staff, from Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, that people who openly proclaim nationalistic and anti-Polish views will not occupy important positions in Ukrainian politics,” Duda said.

What exactly he meant by “anti-Polish views” and who should not be appointed, Duda did not specify.

“The fact that there are such people – and we know that they exist – this is not a good sign from Ukraine regarding us,” said the Polish president.

Earlier, Poland began the procedure for banning Ukrainian officials from entering the country who are blocking the exhumation of Polish victims in Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said that the procedure has already begun for one person. According to the media, he was referring to the director of the Institute of National Remembrance Volodymyr Viatrovych.
