US spy plane spotted near the Crimea

On Sunday, a patrol aircraft of the US Navy conducted a reconnaissance flight near the Crimea.

According to Interfax, with reference to websites that track the movement of military aviation, the P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft left the Sigonella airbase in Sicily. It then flew over Greece and Bulgaria, and was gathering intelligence over the Black Sea near the southern coast of the Crimea.

Cases of US aircraft approaching Russian borders have become more frequent over the last few months. On the 23rd of September, the P-8A Poseidon flew over the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian permanent task force of the region is presumably located there. On the same day, another US air reconnaissance plane flew close to the coast of the Crimea.

On the 1st of October, it was reported that two US Air Force planes also conducted reconnaissance flights. The first plane approached Russian ships in the Mediterranean Sea, while the second plane flew close to the south-west region of the Crimea.
