Ukrainian Space Agency: Ukraine and US will carry out joint rocket launch in August
Ukraine and US will carry out a joint launch of the Antares rocket in August 2016. This was reported by the Head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine, Liubomyr Sabadosh.
“The trials of the rocket were completed in July. There were no issues with the functioning of the systems and modules of the first stage of the rocket. The first launch of Antares is planned for August, 2016,” Sabadosh said.
Antares made its inaugural flight on April 21, 2013. Ukraine is working on the main structure of the first stage of the Antares rocket. Antares is used to deliver payloads to the International Space Station.
Wallops Flight Facility, in Virginia, USA, is the primary launch site for the rocket.
