Ukrainian politician claimed Putin is a good godfather to his daughter
RIA Novosti reported that the representative of Kyiv in the humanitarian subgroup on the Donbas issues, the leader of the All-Ukrainian Social Movement "Ukrainian choice - the right of the people," Viktor Medvedchuk said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a good godfather to his daughter.
"When I'm with my family in Russia, I meet with President Putin, of course, not only there. These meetings are primarily dictated by Ukraine's interests, and this channel of communication could be used in Ukraine's interests. Of course, Putin also sees his goddaughter. He's a good Godfather who congratulates his goddaughter on her birthday on May 20 of every year," Medvedchuk said in an interview with the Austrian channel ORF, which was published on the website of the movement on Monday.
In late April, Medvedchuk said in an interview with the Financial Times that his relationship with the Russian president is in the interests of Ukraine. He said that statements that he secretly represents Russian interests are "absurd."
The problem of resolving the crisis has been discussed at the talks in various formats, especially in the Normandy format that includes Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia. Warsaw suggested changing the format of negotiations to the Geneva format with the participation of the US and of Poland as a state neighboring both the Russian Federation and Ukraine. However, only in the Minsk agreements was a ceasefire reached.
