Ukrainian Intelligence does not exclude threat of possible offensive by Russia

Ukrainian Intelligence is taking all necessary measures to detect the possible preparation of an offensive by Russia. The representative from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitsky, stated that the Intelligence Office isn’t excluding the threat of an open offensive from the Russian Federation.

“We are not excluding such a threat. Nevertheless, we are implementing all measures to detect the movement and possible preparation for large-scale actions from the Russian Federation,” Vadim Skibitsky explained. According to Skibitsky, the situation remains difficult at the moment.

“Troop deployment activities and reinforcements of the group located in the northern part of the Crimea are being implemented. We are monitoring this situation, but this conflict is far from being exhausted; that is why we need to monitor actions from the Russian side. A powerful army formation is being used as a defense shield for the whole of the Crimea and is capable of launching a broader scale military operations,” the representative from the Intelligence Office said. According to Skibitsky, Russia is building up its military presence in the Donbas.
