Ukrainian Border Guard Service continues to note Russian military activity along administrative border with Crimea

Servicemen of the State Border Service of Ukraine continue recording the activity of Russian armed forces in the vicinity of the administrative borders with the annexed Crimea and in other areas, according to the information released by their press service.

"Over the past day, guards in the Azov-Black Sea regional administration observed a Mi-8 helicopter flight over the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimea close to the administrative border. Also, the border agency units recorded an active demonstration of military equipment in the occupied territory of the peninsula. In addition, the invaders tried to illuminate the positions of border guards… with searchlights,” the press service stated.

Earlier, the State Border Service reported that the positions of the Russian military near the administrative border of the Crimea were enhanced with modern equipment. The situation at the administrative border especially intensified after the statements of the Russian FSB about the detention of "Ukrainian saboteurs" on the peninsula.

On Thursday, August 25th, the Russian Defense Ministry announced a sudden check of combat readiness of the troops along the Ukrainian border and the administrative border with the Crimea.
