Ukraine summons Israel's ambassador over Israel's anti-Ukraine rhetoric
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Israel’s ambassador in Kyiv to clarify Israel’s position over Ukraine's vote on the UN resolution condemning Israel’s settlement in the West Bank.
Ukraine also intends to ask the ambassador for explanations over the cancelled visit of the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Grosyman to Israel, as reported by the Interfax-Ukraine news agency citing a source in the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign affairs
According to the source, during the meeting the Ukrainian side requested that Israel, “stop blowing up the anti-Ukrainian hysteria”.
Earlier, the honorary consul of the State of Israel in the western region of Ukraine, Oleg Vishnyakov, said that both sides will make an effort to avoid any negative impact on relations between the countries that could be caused by the Ukrainian vote in the UN.
