The US Congress allocated $410 million worth of financial aid to Ukraine in 2018

The Committee on Appropriations of the US House of Representatives initiated the allocation of $410 million of financial aid to Ukraine in 2018, reported the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States referring to the “Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill, 2018”.

“Despite a significant reduction in the overall budget of the State Department, the estimate of aid to Ukraine through the United States Department of Foreign Affairs and related agencies is maintained at 2017 level, at least $410,465,000” the message said.

The bill provides for defense purposes financing under the Foreign Military Financing program for Ukraine at a level not less than the current fiscal year, as well as for a legislative opportunity for providing Ukraine with additional credit guarantees if necessary.
