Russia will not restrict commercial delivery of uranium products to the U.S.

On October 30, the Department of Communications of Russian Rosatom state copporation commented on information that appeared in Western media about restrictions on the supply of uranium products to U.S. companies that are being prepared in response to anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States, saying that Russia will not limit the commercial delivery of uranium products to the United States, TASS reported.

“Rosatom State Corporation, with all responsibility, states that from the Russian side no measures are being considered to limit the supply of uranium products to the US market,” the statement says. “Commercial cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy is based on long-term contracts, which are subject to unconditional implementation.”

“The Joint Stock Company Techsnabexport, which is a part of Rosatom, is the leading exporter of uranium products, and has operated for more than 40 years on the global market, perfectly fulfilling its contractual obligations, even during the most difficult periods in US-Russian relations. The clear example of this is the successful execution of the complex agreement of the Megatons to Megawatts Program,” the First Deputy General Director for Corporate Development and International Business of the Rosatom State Corporation, Kirill Komarov, commented.

“And today there is no reason to doubt the reliability of Russian deliveries,” he stressed.
