Russia's PARNAS opposition party will not campaign in the Crimea without Ukraine's permission

Candidates to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the PARNAS party will not campaign in the Crimea without Ukraine’s permission, as stated by the Krasnodar branch of the party.

“We will take Ukraine’s advice and will act according to international law. PARNAS will not campaign in the Crimea,” the statement on the official page of the branch stated on the social network, Vkontakte.

Earlier the Ukrainian Director-General of the Directorate General for Policy and Communications, Oleksii Makeiev, stated that the Ministry will not give candidates from the PARNAS party permission to campaign in the Crimea.

“Under the assumption that this is an occupied territory, it is only natural that Ukraine cannot give permission to campaign in the Crimea,” Makeiev said in an interview with Krym.Realii.

Earlier this week, PARNAS deputies in the №33 regional group (Krasnodar region — Adygea — the Crimea), Alexei Korolyov, Alexander Safronov and Marina Kapytsa, sent applications for transit visas to Ukraine to conduct election campaigning to the Ukrainian consulate-general in Rostov-on-Don.
