Russia confirms death of army medic in Syria
Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of a stuff member from the Ministry’s mobile hospital in Aleppo. The information was initially reported by Associated Press news agency citing an unnamed source in the Russian military.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, two more hospital staff members were severely injured. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
“As a result of a direct mortar strike at the reception of the hospital, one Russian stuff member has died. Two other stuff members were critically injured. Civilians who were at the time in the reception to see the doctors were also wounded,” Konashenkov said.
Konashenkov reported that the hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense came under artillery fire on Monday between 12:21-12:30 pm.
According to him, the doctors were receiving patients at that time.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the mobile hospital started its work in Aleppo earlier on Monday.
