Putin: Moscow has started rearmament of Russian Army to strengthen Russia’s western borders and Arctic territories

Russian President Vladimir Putin Stated that Moscow has begun a process of the rearmament of the Russian Armed Forces to strengthen its presence in the Arctic Territories and the western borders, RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Putin noted that Russian operation in Syria has served as an impetus for this rearmament.

“Combat Experience gained during the operation in the Syrian Arabic Republic and a need to strengthen the Arctic territories and the western and southwestern borders prompted a review of the rearmament process,” — said Putin at the Government meeting dedicated to the Army procurement process.

Previously, the officials from the Russian Navy stated that four newest frigates of project 22350 will be delivered to the Navy by 2025.
