Georgian Defense Minister: Brexit does not change Georgia's relationship with the EU and NATO

Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli believes that the UK’s decision to withdraw from the European Union will not affect the relationship between Georgia and the EU, Interfax-Ukraine reported. She also said that Georgia’s relationship with NATO remains unchanged.

Commenting on the UK’s referendum, in which 52% of voters supported leaving the EU, Khidasheli said “of course this changes international politics and international relations,” but in the matter of cooperation between Georgia and NATO, nothing changes.

The Minister also express hope that Brexit will not affect the EU’s process of lifting visa requirements for Georgian citizens.
