Bulgarian President accused Russia of cyber-attacks

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev believes that Russia is trying to divide and destabilize Europe with the help of cyber-attacks.

According to him, the Kremlin is trying to influence the policy of his country and other European countries by financing political parties and spreading propaganda.

Plevneliev said that the hackers who attacked the Bulgarian Central Election Commission website and a number of government sites last year may belong to the same group as the organizers of the attacks on the US Democratic party website.

The Kremlin has consistently denied such allegations.

U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Russia is trying to influence political elections around the world.

Earlier it was reported that US intelligence agencies have evidence of Russian involvement in the hacking attacks on the servers of American political institutions, namely the Democratic Party.
