Less than 20 companies expressed willingness to take part in the industrial park in Crimea

A preliminary agreement on the organization of production in the industrial park of Sevastopol was signed by 17 Russian enterprises. The companies specialize in machinery, instrument making and glassware production, as stated by Nikolay Brusnikin, Head of the City Department for Priority Development Projects, RIA Crimea reports.

"The Corporation for Development of Sevastopol, which oversees the industrial park project, had sent at least 100 appeals to Russian manufacturing companies. Half of them answered. To date, only 17 preliminary agreements have been signed," Brusnikin informed.

According to him, the construction of an industrial park in Sevastopol is scheduled to begin in 2019 or 2020, which gives the planners plenty of time to work out all project and technical documentation.

Apart from Sevastopol, the Crimean authorities plan to spend about 3.9 billion rubles ($70 million USD) within the framework of the Federal Targeted Program for the development of the annexed peninsula to create the engineering infrastructure of the three industrial parks in Bakhchysarai, Feodosia and Yevpatoria.

The government of Sevastopol, which is controlled by the Kremlin, plans to spend 6 billion rubles ($100 million USD) to attract investors.
