Kyiv: China is ready to invest $10 billion in Ukraine

Representatives of the Ukrainian President's Office held a meeting with Chinese investors who are ready to invest $10 billion in the projects in Ukraine, reads the statement of the Press Service of the Ukrainian President.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that representatives of Chinese business invest in infrastructure development, including concession construction of the road around Kyiv, agriculture, and development of gas fields.

"The participants of the meeting made a preliminary list of projects with investment potential with an overall amount of 10 billion US dollars. Ukraine intends to this money together with private and public Chinese companies," the President's Office added.

According to the Ukrainian Statistics Service, China was the largest importer of goods to Ukraine in five months of this year ($3.25 billion which is 13.8% of total imports), as well as a third country, after Poland and Russia, where Ukraine supplies goods ($1.29 billion.). The trade deficit between aUkraine and China amounted to almost $1 billion.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recorded a video in which he invited investors to Ukraine. The President also announced that Ukrainian Business Forum to be held in Ukraine in autumn.
