Kremlin: Putin and Trump discussed satiation with detained Ukrainian sailors

The Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov reported that, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President of the United States, Donald Trump  raised the issue of the release of the Ukrainian sailors, reports Interfax news agency. "President Trump started a discussion on this subject. President Putin gave the necessary explanations," Peskov said.

The meeting of the presidents during the G20 Summit was almost an hour and a half long. The American side reported that Trump and Putin discussed the topics of Iran, Ukraine, Syria, and Venezuela.

Earlier ,Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Putin to release the sailors. The Ukrainian publication Evropeyska Pravda  reported that the release of Ukrainian sailors was part of a broad agreement between the West and Russia, and the return of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was one of its components.

Lawyer Ilya Novikov, who is defending the commander of the captured boat Berdyansk, Roman Mokryak, told The Insider news outlet that information about certain agreements are just rumors, and the most likely scenario for the release of the sailors is their sentencing for the term that they've already spent in jail
