Kremlin: Polish scholar was expelled from Russia in response to deportation of Russian historian from Poland

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Polish historian, Henryk Glebocki, was expelled from the country in response to Warsaw’s "unfriendly act,” as stated in a comment by the Press Secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, and posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We would like to remind that on October 11th, Polish authorities expelled a Russian historian from Poland, who was engaged in teaching there, on absurd charges, and the measures taken against Henryk Glebocki are a response to this unfriendly act," Zakharova said.

Earlier, the FSB detained and expelled a historian from the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland, Henryk Glebocki, from the country. It was reported that the historian conducted research on Polish-Russian relations in the nineteenth century.

Glebocki said that he planned to work in Russia until December 10th, conducting research in the archives for several publications, which he was preparing.

The Polish Defense Minister, Antoni Macierewicz, considers the expulsion of Glebocki from the Russian Federation a hostile act towards scientists who are studying the Soviet regime.
