  • Ukraine and Romania sign agreement on visa-free travel

    The Foreign Ministry’s press service reported that the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Romania, Pavlo Klimkin and Lazăr Comănescu signed an agreement on the 6th of May on the waiver of fees for the registration of Romanian, long-term stay (national) visas for Ukrainians.

    The Agreement was signed during the working meeting of the Ministers that will take place in the urban-type settlement Solotvyno. The Consulate of Romania will be opened before the meeting in Solotvyno.

    The head of Russian-Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said the inhabitants of the occupied peninsula "morally support" the separatists in eastern Ukraine.

  • OSCE reiterates that military parades in the Donbas on May 9th will violate the Minsk Agreements

    The OSCE has once again stressed that the presence of heavy weapons during military parades in Donetsk and Luhansk on May 9th will be a violation of the Minsk Agreements, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

    According to Alexander Hug, the Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE's Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, "historical heritage is important, but [the presence of] heavy weapons in the cities of Luhansk and Donetsk is a violation of Minsk and a threat to the people".

  • Poroshenko issues indefinite moratorium on payment of 'Yanukovych's debt'

    The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, signed the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that placed an indefinite moratorium on the repayment of Eurobonds on the loan provided by Russia to Ukraine in December 2013.

    The corresponding law amending Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On specific features of dealing with sovereign and local debt guaranteed by the state” was signed by the President on the 29th of April.

    NATO's new Supreme Allied Commander, U.S. Army General Curtis Scaparrotti, plans to identify what weapons Ukraine needs to better protect itself.

  • Russian production of a next generation missile boat to begin in Crimea after Victory Day

    The construction of a new generation missile boat, named Storm, will begin on the 10th of May in Feodosia.

    The small Project 22800 boat was designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau.

  • OSCE notes the success of the Orthodox Easter ceasefire in the Donbas

    In the last three days, attacks have been minimal in the Donbas

    As was stated during a briefing by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, the ceasefire in the Donbas, as agreed before the May holidays, is being successfully maintained, Terra Espana reported.
