Latvia bans RTR Rossiya TV channel over hate speech against Ukraine
The National Electronic Mass Media Council of Latvia (NEPLP) has decided to ban the broadcast of the TV channel "RTR Rossiya" on the territory of the country for a year. The decision will come into force on February 15.
"We have protected, defended and will defend our information space," said NEPLP ‘s chairman Ivars Āboliņš, Delfi reports.
Last summer, NEPLP noticed incitement of hatred in the program "60 Minutes" on "RTR Rossiya" and began the restriction process.

Montenegro overturns convictions of 2 Russians accused of coup attempt
Montenegro sent for review the case of the 2016 coup attempt, the defendants of which were two Russians. According to Newsru.com, the sentences of all the defendants in the trial were overturned.
In 2019, Russians Eduard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov received 15 and 12 years in prison in absentia. Other defendants included Milan Knezevic and Andrija Mandic, leaders of the Democratic Front as well as several Serbian citizens.

Kremlin cancels Putin’s meeting with Iran’s Parliament Speaker
A meeting of Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was scheduled for Saturday, was cancelled.

Russia has resumed laying pipes for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, reports the Russian news agency Interfax, citing Nord Stream 2 AG.

Germany considers shutting down Nord Stream-2 if Russia stops gas transit through Ukraine
The German government is considering the possibility of establishing a mechanism which will allow shutting down the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline if Russia reduces gas transit through Ukraine, reported German newspaper WirtschaftsWoche citing sources.
