Russian Navy frigate spotted off the coast of Latvia
The Latvian Armed Forces once again observed a Russian naval frigate off the coast of Latvia, Evropeyskaya Pravda reported.
The ship was the Admiral Essen of the Admiral Grigorovich class- the latest class of frigates ordered by the Russian Navy.
“In the exclusive economic zone at a distance of 7 nautical miles from the border of Latvia on July 23, the Russian frigate ‘Admiral Essen’ of the ‘Admiral Grigorovich’ class was spotted,” the Latvian Armed Forces wrote on Twitter.

US missile destroyer entered the Black Sea
As officially reported by the staff of the United States 6th Fleet, the US guided missile destroyer USS Ross has entered the Black Sea to join the international naval exercises known as “Sea Breeze – 2016,” Ukrinform reports.

Turkey and Russia resume negotiations on economic cooperation program
Russia has resumed negotiations with Turkey on a trade and economic cooperation program for 2016-2019, RBC reported.
According to a decree issued by the Russian government, the activities of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation has been resumed.
Work has also been restarted on the creation of a Russian-Turkish joint fund to finance investment projects in both countries.

Russia increased investments in U.S Treasury bonds
In May 2016, Russia increased investments in U.S. Treasuries for the first time in four months. The investments went up by $5.7 billion to $88.2 billion, Finmarket reported, quoting the results of a survey by the United States Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Federal Reserve System.
