Ukrainian President to meet with Donald Trump at World Economic Forum in Davos
During a broadcast on the television channel Inter, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that President Petro Poroshenko will meet with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“Certainly, the President will speak with Trump,” said Klimkin, while speaking about the Ukrainian leader’s upcoming meetings at Davos.
The minister specified the format that the meeting between the two presidents will take.
“What can be said in a general meeting format? Well, of course, they will speak as two presidents. What’s the point of discussing issues, including very sensitive issues, in any general format” summarized Klimkin.
Poroshenko has already met with Trump two times. The first meeting took place on June 20, 2017 during a visit by the Ukrainian President to Washington. Trump received Poroshenko at the White House.
The second meeting took place on September 21, 2017 during a UN General Assembly meeting in New York. Trump and Poroshenko met for an hour at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel.
