Turkey deploys armored vehicles to the border with Syria

The Turkish military command deployed armored vehicles to the Hatay Province bordering Syria, the Anadolu News Agency reported.

The agency reported that the column of armored vehicles has arrived in the Hass District. Now the vehicles will be distributed among the military units stationed on the border.

The Hatay Province borders with the Idlib Province, which is the last major stronghold of the opponents of the country’s president Bashar Assad in Syria.

The armed supporters of the Syrian opposition in Idlib are afraid of the rapid start of a large-scale aggressive operation of the Syrian Armed Forces.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Idlib must not be "left to the mercy" of Assad. According to the Turkish leader, the province can be controlled with the help of moderate opposition.

He stressed that Turkey will continue its presence in Syria.
