US expands sanctions against Russia
The US has announced new sanctions on a number of Russian companies and individuals involved in Russia’s annexation of the Crimea and violence in in eastern Ukraine, as reported on the website of the US Treasury.
Both Russian citizens and citizens of Ukraine involved in the activities of the LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) and DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) fell under the sanctions.
In particular, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Andrey Cherezov, the Director of the Department for Operational Control and Management in the Electric Power Industry of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Grabchak, the head of Technopromexport Sergey Topor-Gilka, were included in the sanctions list.
Among the companies that fell under sanctions: Kirishinefteorgsintez LLC (part of Surgutneftegas), Surgutneftegazbank, Surgutneftegas, and several subsidiaries of Surgutneftegas, which are already under sectoral sanctions.
Also under sanctions fell JSC VO Tekhnopromexport, OJSC Power Machines, Kirishiavtoservis LLC, Lengiproneftekhim LLC, Media-Invest LLC, Novgorodnefteprodukt LLC, Pskovnefteprodukt LLC, Surgutmebel LLC, Kaliningradnefteprodukt LLC, Tvernefteproduct LLC, "Sovkhoz ‘Chervishevskiy’".
