How many Russian troops are there in Eastern Ukraine
According to the informartion published by “Information Resistance” group as of August 26, 2015 the following numbers of Russian-terrorist forces are operating in the occupied areas of Eastern Ukraine
(dynamics update for the last 2 months in brakets)
- Personnel - up to 45 thousand. (decrease of 3-5 thousand)
- Tanks - about 600 units. (increase of 200 units.);
- Armored Combat Vehicles - 1430-1450 units. (decrease of more than 400 units.);
- Artillery - approx. 770 units., Incl .:
a) self-propelled - 500-510 units. (Increase by 30-40 units.)
b) multiple rocket launchers - 250-280 units. (increase of approx. 130 units.);
For the past 2 months, we note a slight decrease in the total number of manpower in the formations of the Russian terrorist forces primarily caused by desertion of the local militants and lack of new recruits from Russia (now the desertion “problem” is being solved via enhanced "mobilization" in so-called "DNR" and "LNR")
In occupied Crimea the Russian troops number as follows:
- Personnel - 24,500 ;
- Tanks - 30;
- ACV - 260 (increase by 10)
- Aircraft - 80 units .;
- Helicopters - 40 units.
- Artillery:
a) self-propelled - 80 units ;
b) reactive - 40 units ;
- Anti-aircraft missile systems S-300 - 24 units.
