Russia opens criminal case over indictment of the Head of RIA Novosti Ukraine
Russian Investigative Committee (IC) responded to Ukraine’s detention of RIA Novosti Ukraine’s editor-in-chief, Kirill Vyshinsky. The IC opened a criminal case for obstruction of the journalists’ work and the criminal persecution of a person known to be innocent, as reported by IC’s press service on Wednesday, May 16.
Vyshinsky obtained Russian citizenship in September 2015. The IC insists that his prosecution in Ukraine is aimed at "preventing him from carrying out his journalistic work." …

Ukrainian Security Service summons 47 people for questioning in the RIA Novosti case
Deputy Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Viktor Kononenko, told Ukrainski Novyny that the SBU has sent out 47 summons for questioning for people related to the case of high treason against Chief Editor of RIA Novosti, Kirill Vyshinsky.
According to Kononenko, interrogations are scheduled to take place soon. He informed media that all searches have been carried out to completion, including investigation of the RIA Novosti-Ukraine office.

Vasyl Hrytsak, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), gave US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker and US Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch evidence of Russia's involvement in crimes against humanity on Ukrainian territory.
